Roles

Roles and permissions. Permissions are a 64-bit set sent as a decimal string, since JavaScript numbers cannot hold 64 bits. Bits: 1 View Channel, 2 Send Messages, 4 Read Message History, 8 Manage Messages, 16 Manage Channels, 32 Manage Roles, 64 Manage Community, 128 Create Invites, 256 Kick Members, 512 Change Nickname, 1024 Manage Nicknames, 2048 Administrator, 4096 Ban Members, 8192 Moderate Members, 16384 Mention Everyone, 131072 Manage Webhooks, 262144 Use Commands, 524288 View Audit Log, 1048576 Attach Files (on @everyone by default, as on Discord), 2097152 Manage Threads, 4194304 Create Public Threads, 8388608 Create Private Threads, 16777216 Send Messages in Threads (the three thread creation and sending bits are on @everyone by default, as on Discord). Voice: 32768 Connect, 65536 Speak, 33554432 Video (camera and screen share), 67108864 Mute Members, 134217728 Deafen Members, 268435456 Move Members, 536870912 Use Voice Activity, 1073741824 Priority Speaker (Connect, Speak, Video and Use Voice Activity are on @everyone by default). 2147483648 Add Reactions, 34359738368 Manage Expressions (server stickers; needs a second factor where the server requires one for moderation). Other bits are reserved and rejected with invalid_permissions. Every community has an @everyone role whose ID is the community ID. Managing a role or member needs it to be below the caller's highest role; the owner is above everyone and has every permission.

Every path is relative to https://api.palloo.app/v1. Send a bot token as Authorization: Bearer palloo_bot_... unless the operation says otherwise; see Authentication.

On this page

Add member role

PUT /communities/{id}/members/{userID}/roles/{roleID} Bot token: Call it with a bot token (people can call it too).

Give a member a role. Requires Manage Roles; the role must be below the caller's highest role and must not hold a permission the caller lacks, and the member, unless it is the caller, must be below the caller's highest role. The role must also not give the member, in any channel, a permission or access to a channel that the caller lacks there (through the role's channel overwrites); otherwise missing_permission. Giving a role the member already has changes nothing.

Required permissions

Requires Manage Roles; the role must be below the caller's highest role and must not hold a permission the caller lacks, and the member, unless it is the caller, must be below the caller's highest role.

Parameters
